Course in orofacial pain and craniomandibular dysfunction

Hospital Ochoa through Drs.  Elena Hens and Pedro Serrano of the Unit of Oral Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has participated in the COURSE IN OROFACIAL PAIN and CRANEOMANDIBULAR DYSFUNCTION this 3, 4 and April 5 in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius.

With participants from more than 15 different countries and organized by Dr. Grybasukas, specialist in orthognathic surgery and president of the BSCOSO, a popular association that brings together oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the Baltic countries.

The course in which Drs.  Hens and Serrano participated as moderators of a discussion panel that dealt with craniofacial and craniocervical pain treatment options that require the inclusion and coordination of different types of specialties such as; anesthesiology, neurology, maxillofacial surgery, traumatology, speech therapy, physiotherapy or odontology.

The treatment of pain is a priority function in medicine, especially those pains that are chronic, difficult to treat or in patients in which numerous therapies have not been previously effective. Craniofacial or orofacial pain that occurs in the head and neck can be disabling, and is often associated with stress and anxiety.
