There are many times when a person may be involved in a traffic accident with varying degrees of severity. Statistics say that most often, these happen in short trips or on the way to work (in itinere). This is why Hospital Clínica Ochoa launched their Unit for Injured in Road Traffic Accidents.

This unit treats patients who have suffered a road traffic accident, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has all the necessary resources to facilitate care:

  • Quick access to support services (x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, rehabilitation and surgery).

  • A team that fulfils all functional and organizational requirements to guarantee safety and quality conditions.

  • We will take care of processing and managing all necessary permits and authorizations with the appropriate insurance company, to ensure excellent health care for the injured person until complete healing or stabilization of sequels.

  • All this free of charge for the injured person.

The new service is possible under existing national agreement between the Spanish Union of Insurance Companies (UNESPA) insurers and the National Federation of Private Clinics, to which Hospital Clínica Ochoa belongs.

Have you suffered, or someone around you, a traffic accident?

In the event of requiring urgent assistance, the injured person should head to the emergency department Hospital Clínica Ochoa to inform about this fact. From there, the Unit for Injured in Traffic Accidents will contact the person to launch the care protocol for traffic accident victims.

In the event of not requiring emergency assistance or having received care in another centre initially, the person can contact directly the Unit for Injured in Traffic Accidents and make an appointment to have the case assessed and launch the care protocol for free provided no more than 30 calendar days have passed since the accident.

Who can access this service?

  • Drivers of a vehicle, in possession of a compulsory insurance in force having collided with another vehicle.
  • Pedestrians, both on foot and by bicycle, in the event of an impact.
  • The occupants of a motor vehicle (car, motorcycle or bus) who have suffered a collision, rollover, braking or fall.

In all cases it is necessary to submit an accident report or in default a police report.

In the event of suffering any symptoms such as vertigo, dizziness or difficulty sleeping which may be post-traumatic sequels of a traffic accident that should be treated in hospital by orthopaedic surgeons, psychologists and physiotherapists.

From the Unit of Injured in Traffic Accidents of Hospital we conduct a full and exclusive treatment covering all health care and administrative needs required by these patients so that their only concern is to recover as soon as possible.

In addition, we process the case file with their insurance companies and hand over a valid medical report for any allegations that may be submitted in court.
