Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is the most requested surgery for women seeking to increase the volume of their breasts. This surgery is carried out by inserting a breast implant in a minimally invasive way and with fantastic results.
It is chiefly prescribed for:
- Improving the breasts’ shape and/or size in people who do not feel comfortable with their current volume.
- Restoring the natural shape of the breast after pregnancy, significant weight loss or simply as a result of the passage of time.
The qualified professionals at Hospital Ochoa will advise each patient on the best treatment for their particular situation. During the first appointment with the plastic surgeon, all aspects will be evaluated in order to design a tailor-made solution that meets the desired results. The patient’s general health and potential risk factors may also be studied and assessed, and all procedures are carried out in our modern and safe facilities.
Breast augmentation can be performed in three ways:
Areolar: A small incision is made around the nipple through which the implant is inserted. Due to the darker texture of the areola, the scar is usually camouflaged quite well. This procedure is most commonly used for correcting breast asymmetry or for reconstruction.
Transaxillary: This technique is conducted through the armpit with a surgical camera, thereby leaving no scar on the breast.
Inframammary: The incision is made in the naturally occurring fold under the breast. The inframammary approach is the most popular option as it is simple to perform and the scar is well-concealed.
